“Bike-Thru Drive-Thru” for Charity

CJ Burford is a seven-year-old boy with plans to ride his bike approximately 300 miles during his Spring Break, to raise money for the Samaritan's Purse "Turn on the Tap" Water Project. His ride brings CJ and his team through New Bern, NC on Tuesday April 3rd (approx 2-3pm). Chick-fil-A is feeding CJ and his team, and we are inviting EVERYONE to the "Welcome Party" (upon arrival).

ALL DAY (Tuesday April 3rd): Ride Your Bike through the Chick-fil-A Drive-Thru and Chick-fil-A will donate $1 - for every bike rider who places an order in drive-thru - to the charity on behalf of our friend, CJ.

12-6pm (Tuesday April 3rd): We plan to have fun activities, booths & giveaways!

If you own a bike, you can help CJ make a difference. Ride from home to Chick-fil-A if you can, or load your bike on a bike rack, in the bed of a pick-up truck, or in the back of the SUV...wherever it will fit! We will have outdoor seating and bike racks (thanks to Flythe’s Bike Shop) where you can secure your bike.

As we get notice that CJ is about to arrive, we will line up outside near the Chick-fil-A entrance and welcome him and his team to New Bern! Make sure you are there; we want to make this very special for such a special little boy.

Important Safety Guidelines
Any participant sixteen and under, riding a bike, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must wear proper headgear. All bikers should wear bright clothing.

Most Creative Names (Round Two)

Callahan Naming Group critiqued the team names that made it into the second round of our name challenge, and determined which five names will move forward. “It was a tough decision,” said Joey Jones, CNG President. “The names that have made it to the final round are all clear, memorable and relevant.” (See Below) On Championship Day we will announce the winner!

-Tried and Truett Picks “Replacing ‘True’ with ‘Truett’ in this very common saying is very creative. You see, Truett Cathy is the founder of Chick-fil-A.”

-Burger Buster Bracket “The Chick-fil-A Cows second this message!”

-The IceDream Team “IceDream ice cream is a favorite of many Chick-fil-A customers. The ‘Dream Team’ is a famous USA Olympic basketball team made up of NBA players. Even though that dream team is not NCAA related, any team can be a dream team!”

-Cowaballa “This name was most likely derived from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles famous saying, ‘Cowabunga’! It’s upbeat, creative and fun!”

-Eat More Brackets “The words ‘Eat Mor’ have been made famous by the Chick-fil-A Cows. Tying them in with ‘Brackets’ is priceless. There are countless meanings that could be derived from this name.”

Most Creative Names (Narrowing the Field)

Our friends at Callahan Naming Group have narrowed down the Most Creative Name Challenge portion of our NCAA Bracket Pool to ten names. Here is what they had to say: “In keeping with the tradition of the NCAA Tournament, we figured it only makes sense to narrow the field, instead of simply choosing one winner at the beginning of the competition. When selecting the most creative team names we had to keep in mind that they must be basketball related AND Chick-fil-A related. Some names were creative, but did not meet both ends of the criteria. The Top 10 names are listed below, with our thoughts. After the next two rounds of games we will narrow the list to five and on Championship Day we will announce the winner!”

-I'll take a #1.......seed “Ordering a #1 Chick-fil-A Meal & choosing a #1 Seed, very wise decisions!”

-Hoops I picked 'em again “A Britney Spears inspired name? Funny!”

-In your Grill “The words ‘In your grill’ have been used by basketball players for years. Chick-fil-A is also well-known for Grilled Chicken. We like the double meaning implied here.”

-AMoozing Mayem “In Chick-fil-A Cow talk ‘Amazing’ just might become ‘Amoozing’! Mayhem is popular terminology during March Madness.”

-Eat More Brackets “The words ‘Eat Mor’ have been made famous by the Chick-fil-A Cows. Tying them in with ‘Brackets’ is priceless. There are countless meanings that could be derived from this name.”

-March Mooooooooooooness “It’s a long ‘moo’, but it’s effective here, in the midst of a nearly three week stretch of the greatest basketball of the year. Madness (Moo...ness) is definitely what March is about.”

Which name do you like best?

*Our favorite name that didn’t meet the Chick-fil-A side of the criteria is “Fortune Zeller”. Tyler Zeller is a standout player at the University of North Carolina. We wonder where Fortune Zeller would predict the Heels in the bracket?
